I’ve always found it odd to find a lone shoe, but to find a pair or two is even weirder! No walking a mile in heels for me! Give me comfy shoes for that. 😉

What’s even more strange is that this is completely normal. There are always shoes if all sizes and styles littering the streets. These were all shot on the same day, within about 8 blocks or so. It just makes me wonder…
the title of your post reminded of the campaigns to raise rape consciousness where men walk a mile in women’s shoes – usually hells – in order to show their support of women who have been raped and it was very different than that. but your post has a whole tone and it just surprised me and left me very emotional thinking of all the sad stories that could be associated w/ those abandoned shoes and wondering about their owners.
Yes, it’s true, there are so many possible meanings and stories behind those shoes… It’s striking how much weight such a simple garment can carry.
A lone shoe in the middle of the road. Seen them many times… Never really stopped to wonder. Nice photos! =)
Great pics and very interesting on pairs of shoes everywhere. Fun to consider the stories behind them.
