looks good, what are you grinding?
It’s not grinding, but actually pounding white sticky rice with mallets until it becomes a soft dough known as mochi. It’s a Japanese New Year’s tradition that I love! The mochi is served in both sweet and savory ways, and the whole village usually gets involved because it’s such a strenuous activity. Well worth the struggle though!
thank you!
I was just telling some people tonight about making mochi. :-) Happy 2016, Hannah. May it be filled with many blessings for you.
