Deviled Eggnog Jello Shots
A playful twist on a holiday classic, these vegan Deviled Eggnog Jello Shots look like deviled eggs but taste like spiked, creamy eggnog; sweet, boozy, and irresistibly festive.
Ingredients
Egg Whites:
- 2/3 Cup Vegan Eggnog
- 1/3 Cup Light Rum
- 1 Teaspoon Agar Powder
Egg Yolk:
- 1 (14-Ounce) Can Full-Fat Coconut Milk, Chilled
- 1 Tablespoon Granulated Sugar
- 3/4 Teaspoon Ground Turmeric
- 1/4 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- Ground Nutmeg (To Garnish)
Instructions
- Place an egg-shaped silicone mold with 8 halves on a small tray to more easily move it around when full.
- To make the egg whites, begin by whisking together the vegan eggnog, rum, and agar in a small saucepan. Make sure there are no lumps of agar before setting the pan over medium-low heat. Cook gently until bubbling vigorously, then cook for another minute, whisking constantly.
- Let the mixture settle for about 5 minutes before pouring into the egg molds. Try to gently pop any errant bubbles with a spoon. Cool to room temperature before carefully transferring to your fridge. Let rest for 1 - 2 hours, until set.
- To make the yolk mixture, Carefully open the chilled can of coconut milk, being sure not to shake it, and scoop off the top layer of thick coconut cream. Save the watery liquid left behind for another recipe (it’s great in curries or soups!) Place the coconut cream in the bowl of your stand mixer and install the whisk attachment. Whip on high speed for about 3 minutes before slowly beginning to sprinkle in the sugar and turmeric, just a little bit at a time. Continue beating the mixture for up to 10 minutes, until light and fluffy. Finally, fold in the vanilla extract.
- Carefully pop the egg whites out of the molds and arrange them on a platter. Transfer the yolk mixture to a piping bag with a large star tip and pipe dainty dollops into the center of your egg halves. Sprinkle lightly with ground nutmeg and enjoy!
- Keep chilled if not serving right away, but be aware that the yolk mixture will begin to deflate within an hour.

Some really clever and delicious looking treats using vegan eggnog…I could go for them all but those little deviled eggs are really special. I do like the taste of egg nog especially and only if it’s vegan.
