Right up front, I'll tell you that I did @zuzuaustin wrong, but I fully intend to remedy the situation ASAP. See the thing is, part of the appeal is their salsa bar, but I got my food to go and missed out. Still, their veggie flautas are excellent, crispy and filled with a rich, well-seasoned black bean puree. Ask for no cheese and you'll be golden. I'm glad I sprung for an extra avocado too, so I could chop it up and add that on top to make up for my lack of sauce options.
Pro tip: You can swap in sweet potato noodles for any of the bowl builds at @countercultureaustin, because given the choice, how could you settle for anything else? While you can't see them underneath the plethora of toppings that come with it, I promise they're worth digging for. On top of the toothsome, slippery starch, you're looking at beets, charred broccoli, carrots, peptitas, chimichurri dressing, and the real star, housemade BBQ seitan. Sliced thin yet substantial, hearty but not heavy, I can never not chose this when asked for my protein selection.
Smoky, tender, rich kalua pork doesn't need meat to be amazing! This vegan version of the Hawaiian classic is made out of @shiitake_japan mushrooms and is ready in mere minutes.
Just leaving this here as reference for the perfect bread-to-avocado ratio when making avocado toast. That is all.
