Always happy to have a new project to focus on, I decided a week or two ago that the next big thing should be a muffin ebook. Everyone loves muffins, right? They’re dead easy to make, with so many potential flavors and textures- It should be a smash hit! Sounds fool-proof… Although I proved to be the fool this time. Maybe I’ve temporarily lost my baking mojo, but muffins are just not my thing it seems. After dozens of batches, not all were disastrous, but they were still only edible at best. So, there will be no muffin ebook. There will, however, be plenty of muffin porn. Just think about adapting your favorite muffin recipe to incorporated these ideas, if they sound good to you.
Matcha Latte Muffins
Sweet Potato Cranberry Muffins
Double Chocolate Black Bean Muffins
Superfood Muffins (With blueberries, walnuts, oats, quinoa, orange juice, and flaxseeds)
Fresh Tomato and Corn Muffins
Any Flavor Jam Muffins
Banana Split Muffins (With chocolate chips and cherries)
As much as it pains me to simply put this project to bed, unfinished, I’d much sooner release an ebook entitled “One Hundred of Hannah’s Worst Recipes!” There will surely be more ebooks to come… But almost certainly not one all about muffins. I think I’ll leave that one for people who actually wake up in time for breakfast to figure out.
Girl, you NEVER create bad recipes!! You’re so modest, haha :-D
Can I have one for breakfast?? o(^.^)O
Sorry that project didn’t pan out, Hannah! But I admire you for making the tough decision to stop – I have a bad habit of forging ahead in the face of all evidence telling me to stop!
All of them look delicious! If you have the chance, check my salty muffins recipe at the blog too ;o)
Awww, sadness! I look forward to your next endeavor. :)
Wow ! Some of these sound really delicious, Hannah. I really love muffins – easy to make and so portable ! Maybe it was the wrong time for the project, but if you change your mind in the future, I’ll definitely be interested in the eBook. Thanks for sharing your ideas anyway. Good luck with your next project !
Bummer! Well, they sure look good!
Well, they still look great!
I find it hard to believe you can create a bad recipe! I would totally eat them all! haha
Matcha latte muffins sound divine. What could go wrong in the muffin baking? were they too dense? Don’t give up, baking can be tricky-especially vegan baking. I’m sure you are already aware of that but never give up!!
man it’s hard to believe that those muffins weren’t good.
the superfoods one looks like my cuppa!
I would gladly eat your muffins, they look delicious!
Sorry it didn’t work out for you (this time), Hannah! BUT your photos were lovely!
~ingrid
They look great to me, Hannah! I love that teapot in the first photo – just gorgeous! Maybe not a muffin book, but you’ll come up with something!
Oh darn! Sorry it didn’t work out. They look really good. And the black bean one is very intriguing.
Ooh..couldn’t belive that I just found your blog, right now, these flavors of muffin make me crave for lots of muffin now :)
It’s cool to see you admit that the muffin beat you – they still all look good though, and I especially like the sound of the superfood muffins – that’s the kind of thing I’d try to sell to my sceptical six-year old for breakfast!
Certainly these aren’t as bad as you’ve revealed. They look incredible, and I’m pretty sure you never have kitchen disasters.
I love muffins! Each one of those look AMAZING!!!!!
You read my mind! Muffins are so verstile, grab and go, fun to create and delicious, one of my all time fav. breakfast/snack foods… all of these creations sound (and look) amazing! What do you mean by “Hannah’s worst” ? I CAN’T WAIT to buy THIS E-book!!! :D
Well, the muffin porn is pretty darn great! I love the look of the tomato corn muffins. Mmm savory!
I have not had luck with muffins either…but at least yours are prettier than mine!
These look awesome … Especially the sweet potato ones. Mmmmm!
Looks like it would have been a great ebook! I think you’re too critical of yourself. At least I can’t imagine you producing too many *disasters*.
Muffin Mania indeed!!! The chocolate black bean creations boggle my mind, brilliant! Everything looks fantastic :)
These look too, too good- I feel a sudden urge to make hundreds of muffins! How was the banana split? It sounds amaaaazing.
Sorry the eBook didn’t work out. But on the bright side, I work at a local bookstore, and I sold your cookbook “My Sweet Vegan” tonight! I even told the girl to check out your blog! So even though there will be no muffin eBook (for now! I have faith!), you’re still passing on your wonderful recipes to the world! And the muffin porn is amazing, btw.
All of these muffins look delicous, and I’d be happy to have the recipe for any of them!
Well, isn’t this just the cruelest?! hahaha. I’m sorry it didn’t work out, Hannah.
Just ordered My Sweet Vegan book ;o)
It’s a shame they didn’t work out because they all look and sound great!
I love muffins too, but I have also been known to struggle with making any of them look as good as they are supposed to. As it turned out I was treating the dough the same way as I did with cupcakes, but for muffins the opposite is true. If you stir the dough too much the muffins will not come out right. They should be light and fluffy, too much stirring means hard and unedible, plus they don’t rise so good anymore. You probably know this already, but I just thought I mention in, just in case you didn’t!
They look and sound wonderful! I hope you will post some anyways! :D
I hope to buy all your e-books soon!
waving hi at you. been forever, it seems.
I am SUPER curious about the superfood muffins??? (i’ve recently discovered I love quinoa!) Any chance you can give us a peak at that recipe?? :D
So wait… you’re going to hold out on the Sweet Potato Cranberry Muffins and Double Chocolate Black Bean muffins?! :)
I’m sorry your muffin project didn’t work out! Which I sort of can’t believe because those you posted look super-fantastic!
It’s so hard to believe that the amazing photos are of unsatisfactory muffins! They look really good, and all the best for the next project you decide to embark on. We’ll be waiting. :) x
They look great!
Sorry that they didn’t live up to your expectations…
well…they all LOOK amazing!
Oh man, I was very excited when I read the beginning of your post…I guess it’s proof that none of us are perfect! I do love muffins so, but the texture and right amount of moisture can be really hard to achieve in vegan muffins. I’ve even so many really inedible ones, even from companies that make otherwise really tasty vegan baked goods. I have yet to produce the perfect vegan blueberry muffin, which is my favorite.
aLL THESE MUFFINS LOOK DELICIOUS. THE ONE WITH THE CHOCOLATE AND BLACK BEANS LOOKS REALLY INTERESTING :)
Sorry your muffin adventure did not turn out how you had hoped. :(
Ahh! Don’t you hate it when you feel you’ve lost your baking mojo? Or just your cooking mojo in general in my case. That happens to me every so often and it drives me crazy. I just want to sit on the floor in my kitchen a cry like a big baby. It’s usually only a temporary state though ;)
Is this a ploy to get us wanting them more? ;) They all look fabulous, I know you have worked with those ingredients before and had success, AND it is not like you to give up easily. They do look great and the combinations sound wonderful.
Don’t worry, it happens to the best of us. I’ve had many failed muffin-baking attempts (mostly because I try to sub out too many things at once). The pics are still amazing :) That sweet potato cranberry one sounds like heaven to me.
I want one of each muffin, but the Double Chocolate Black Bean ones have truly piqued my interest!
What a bummer!! They do all look amazing… and I’m sure by most people’s standards they are delicious! But I understand, I think we all hold up our own baking to a certain standard, and all the recipes of yours I’ve made, show that you set the bar super high!
So…YES. I want the black bean double choco recipe, too. Come on. Post it!
Ah well, the muffin porn is pretty to look at. I can’t ever make up my mind about muffins anyway. Most of the time they are either too dense and healthy or way too sweet and should have frosting and be called a cupcake. There never seems to be that perfect middle ground.
That IS quite the muffin porn!! I’m intrigued by the matcha latte muffins.
Those chocolate black bean muffins look too good! I am also really into those savory tomato corn muffins, yum.
