So a vegan walks into a Brazillian steakhouse...
You know it's gotta be good when the photo sucks and I STILL want to share.
Photos do not do justice to the ban xeo chay at @sunflowerrestaurant_ . This beautiful golden crepe is roughly the size of a football and stuffed with a panoply of bean sprouts, mushrooms, and fried tofu. It's simultaneously crispy and tender, light and rich, fresh and hearty. Rice flour is the secret to that inimitable texture, but I could never for the life of me replicate it at home.
Nothing like an impromptu DIY sushi night! Trying to change up the routine with all different formats, including nigiri, gunkan, temari, temaki, and classic maki rolls. What's your favorite type of sushi? 🍣🍙
