Batting a Thousand

For a soft-spoken gal with a powerful fear of public speaking, one thousand posts is a stunning, if not downright shocking, milestone. Who knew I had so much to say in the first place? Strung together in bits and pieces, wedged between questionable punctuation, and tucked around photos and recipes, it’s taken an unbelievable number of words to glue this little blog together. Ironically, I’m having trouble verbalizing what all of those words mean to me, and the fact that anyone would take the time to read them all.

Can you feel the love?

That’s why, on this 1000th post, I want you to do the talking. Tell me about anything you’d like, be it about blogs in general, things you’ve enjoyed on this blog (Have you made my recipes? Tried my craft patterns? Call me a narcissist, but I love hearing about that!) or just what’s on your mind at the moment. Free choice! In exchange, I want to share with you my biggest giveaway yet…

The email marketing provider Little Green Plane has given me 6 x $25 Amazon.com vouchers to give away. For those playing along at home, that’s a total of $150 up for grabs! Though you’re free to choose anything your heart desires, I might suggest that it’s the perfect amount to snag one of my current cookbooks, or pre-order the latest to complete your collection (I can dream, right?)

To reward all you faithful regulars, this will be a speed-round contest. It will run only through the weekend, until Midnight EST on Sunday, April 22nd, with the six (!) winners announced shortly thereafter. Just make sure you enter a valid email address so that I can get in touch, and do me the favor of only entering once per person. It makes it so much easier to determine the winners via the all-knowing random number generator.

  1. Congratulations and best wishes for thousands more posts! I am a fan of your amigurumi :) thanks for generously sharing your patterns here.

  2. Congrats on your 1000 posts! Oh Hannah, I share that fear of public speaking. That’s why I became a writer. I don’t think you have questionable punctuation by the way. Your writing is amazing! Just keep doing what you are doing. Throw in some simple recipes for me, because I am a lazy cook. I loved your coconut milk marinara sauce! Easy and delicious.

  3. I love your blog! You are a great writer and photographer. I come here first when my sweet tooth starts calling because you have the BEST desserts. Your photos are amazing too. Thanks for sharing!

  4. Congratulations, Hannah! Your blogging voice seems so easy and natural, I hope to get there someday.
I’m a huge fan of all of your cookbooks, but your root beer cupcake is easily my favorite recipe. I can’t wait to get my hands on your ice cream book!

  5. Hannah,

I am a wimp when it comes to food that is spicy, sometimes mild salsa’s are to hot for me. See a wimp. So I was a little hesitant to try your Spiced Rosemary Chocolate Chip Cookies, however they really intrigued me. My daughter was staying with us at the time and she likes spicy, I love rosemary, so I decided to give them a try. Amazing! I should have done a double batch! They didn’t last long. You have opened a new world to me, I am more willing to try recipes using spicy ingredients and adding them to some of my favorites. I have plans to try an oatmeal cookie with a similar idea that I am still working out in my head. :)
Thank you for all of your hard work in creating your recipes and sharing them with us. That also goes for you photography.
I have your current cookbooks and am looking forward to your new one.

  6. You must be so proud! Especially because all of your posts are quality posts with beautiful photography. I’ve made several of your recipes and I’m always pleased! :)

  7. Congratulations on each and every quality post. There are tons of your recipes that I’ve tried and loved! I just hope you keep at it!

  8. Congratulations on your 1000th post. I’m pretty new to your blog, but your photos and recipes drew me in. I look forward to a 1000 more posts. :-)

  9. Congrats on the milestone, Hannah! You’ve done an amazing job with your first thousand posts by, I venture, just being yourself. If you keep that up, I suspect you’ll get to through the next thousand before you realize it. :)

You know that I adore your photography and your creative recipes, but the first thing that drew me into your blog was your writing. Your tone is always smart, quizzical, and adventurous. Your “voice” as a writer is one that many people spend their entire lives crafting and honing, so that only goes to show: you’re a natural!

Keep up the great work, and bask in the glory of all your accomplishments!

  10. One thing I love about your blog is your photography! Also stunning. And I’m glad I get to see your photos in VegNews, too! Congrats on 1000 posts!!

  11. I’m not much of a commenter, usually, but I wanted to congratulate you on your thousandth post. I read your blog quite often, and in fact, just yesterday I made your mattar tofu paneer for myself and my cousin. We LOVED it! We also discussed how insanely talented you are in your creation of delicious vegan recipes, and the fact that you’re so young and have several books published is just astonishing. Thank you for taking the time to continually wow all of your readers. I think I can speak on all of our behalves when I say we truly appreciate all you do here on Bittersweet.

  12. One thousand? That is a HUGE milestone! Congratulations, Hannah! Writing is a powerful and liberating medium for us shy folk. Your writing is fabulous and it’s wonderful that your vibrant personality shines through every eloquent post. Don’t change anything about you or what you do!

As you know and as you have seen, I’ve made a bunch of your recipes and I already own your cookbooks so… *bows to you* You’ve got a lifetime fan over here, buddy.

Have a great weekend and thanks for this generous contest!

  13. Congratulations on reaching 1000 posts! It is kind of funny how I came to find your blog. I actually came for a crochet pattern. Probably from Ravelry. And then I started looking around your blog. The amazing pictures of such tasty food. I knew I would have to stick around to get some of those recipes (in the days before pinterest made sure I never lost things like that). I can honestly say, it took me a while to realize that your recipes were vegan. I had a horrible, preconcieved notion of what vegan food was. I had no idea food like that could be vegan and look like it tastes good. The best part, is over the years I’ve made several of your recipes and loved them. I do have to admit to cheating a bit sometimes. I don’t have access to some of the ingredients you do, or it just looked so delicious I didn’t want to wait to go to the grocery store. :) So thank you. For your patterns, your recipes and definitely changing my mind about vegan food.

  14. I love your blog, especially the craft patterns. I like the cupcake hat, the alien and the penguin. More knit patterns please?? Debbei H

  15. I found your blog by Googling for vegan & vegetarian blogs. I’m always looking for something else to fix for dinner. I do not enjoy cooking & am not able to invent anything on my own. I have to rely on help from people like you. Your recipes are marvelous. Truly marvelous.

  16. Congratulations Hannah! That is such an immense milestone. Well, you know how amazing I think you are and I’m probably one of the readers who has been with you the longest! It has been cool to see your recipes, photos, and writing evolve. But I must admit, I still think back often to a post you did year’s ago that was so cute and made me giggle. I need to find that post again.

  17. I love making your Better Banana Nut Muffins from My Sweet Vegan. They always come out perfectly!

  18. I love making your recipes, and your cute little critters are great! But I have to admit what makes me stay around is your writing style – its honest, well thought out, and of great quality. If I won, I would most definitely invest in one of your books!

And congratulations on making the milestone!

  19. Congratulations–what a great milestone! I’ve long admired your blog for the stunning photos.

  20. Congratulations Hannah, that is really awsome,1000 posts ,wow!
I have been reading your blog for a few years now,and it is always a pleasure to come here, and I especially enjoy your beautiful pictures. That avocado picture is so beautiful! And your blog made me want to buy your book ,which I did :)

  21. my favorite aspect of your blog? amazing photography. the recipes are always fabulous as well. we use your basic waffle recipe every saturday morning!

  22. Congratulations on reaching the impressive milestone! You’ve certainly done it with style. :)

I recently made your delicious Kelp Noodle Japchae. I happen to enjoy kelp noodles AND veggie japchae, so combining the two was just perfect.

  23. Congratulations Hannah! There must be some sort of gem stone for 1000 posts. What’s better than diamonds? You deserve it, fearless, creative you. Whenever I ready your posts, I thank the food gods for the first day you decided to hit “Publish.”

  24. 1000 posts is a crazy big number! Congratulations, and I look forward to reading loads more from you in the future.

  25. Congrats on 1000 posts! I’d love to see more crochet patterns, I feel like it’s been a while since we’ve seen some of your genius amigurumi!

  26. Congrats on 1000 posts! Thank you so much for your recipes and thoughts – looking forward to the next 1000.

  27. Hannah, I friggin’ LOVE your blog.
Your pictures are gorgeous. You’re just adorable. I bet you smell like cookies. (Is that weird?)
    Congrats on 1000!!! <3

    1. Actually, I just have to say that it’s not weird at all, and you’re totally right! I use a cocoa butter-based lotion, so I DO smell like cookies most of the time!
Lots of love right back at you; yours are the sort of comments that remind me why I keep on posting. :)

  28. 1000 posts is amazing! Congrats! I always love your food photos – I find myself tempted by not just the recipes of things I might like, but by recipes for things I know I don’t like.

  29. Congratulations on your 1000th post. I enjoy reading your post and I love your pictures.

  30. congrats on 1000 posts! all the recipes of yours that i’ve made have been great, and you also take excellent photos. looking forward to many more!

  31. Congratulations on 1,000! I have been reading your blog since my early days of veganism, and as a high schooler only having her mothers’ kitchen to play with it was inspiring to see the beautiful things you were creating. Now, although I don’t bake nearly as often as I used to, I drool over your pictures and will indeed be buying your newest book right in time for summer. Congratulations Hannah- you’ve always inspired me!

  32. Congratulations Hannah! I have only recently changed my eating to vegan and finding sites like yours has made it SO much easier. I’m excited about all of the health benefits but I also love making (and baking) things that no one would ever guess are vegan! Thank you for your beautiful pictures and amazing recipes!! Wishing you many more tasty posts!

  33. Wow, congrats on 1,000 posts, that’s incredible! Your blog is always inspiring and your recipes never fail to impress! :D

  34. CONGRATULATIONS, Hannah! You know, I feel it’s often the case that those who are quiet have so much of value to say.

Reading your posts is simultaneously an experience of learning what my friend has been up to in her life while also learning about new ingredients, being tantalized by recipes, and being thoroughly impressed by your beautiful photographs and adorable crafts.

I’m so grateful to you for your contribution to veganism and to the blogging world and, more importantly, I’m grateful to call you my friend.

    xoxo

  35. I really just wanted to thank you personally for your blog. Not just the recipes themselves, but the amount of creativity you use in your writing. The way you describe ingredients, feelings, well, just everything in general.. It’s 20 steps above ALL other blogs I follow. So, here’s to you, the BitterSweet blog and the next 1,000 posts! <3

  36. Congrats! I really enjoy everything about your blog, from the photos to the crafts to the recipes. Can’t wait to read your next thousand posts! :D

(My e-mail address is girlinthegarden AT gmail DOT com.)

  37. Wow-this is such an amazing mile stone. I just wanted you to know that you were the first food blog that I ever followed. I loved the photos, the recipes, the clever ways of working without dairy and gluten…and all of that just keeps getting better.
Also I love the cookies–seriously, thank you for all the cookie recipes. (Especially those lemon ones you posted a while back. They are wonderful!)

  38. I’ll add my congrats to the crowd. I love your writing and the photos are mouth-wateringly beautiful. I recently made the blushing beet pierogi and they were great! I have powdered peanut butter on my wishlist at Amazon so I can try the crispy peanut tofu. Keep up the good work!

  39. 1000 posts? Wow! I’m pretty new to both your blog and vegan but I was browsing for food blogs and loved yours so much I immediately subscribed. Your photos make everything look so yummy, and you make it all sound so easy. Keep up the great work.

  40. I love your blog and your cookbooks! I am a new vegan and I came across your site a few months ago and I went back and read every single post. I have made several of your recipes. I think my favorite one so far was the quinoa cereal made with carrot juice. So good! Thank you so much for all your posts and recipes. They are very much appreciated.

  41. Wow! Congrats on 1,000 posts… it’s a huge commitment and accomplishment. Some of your posts aren’t my taste, but I find myself reading them anyway because you’re so engaging. I never thought vegan could be tasty and I thank you for so many great ideas!

  42. Yay! Congrats on 1000 posts! My favorite thing about your blog is your photos – I am continually impressed by the beautiful photos that you take. I think you have such a wonderful eye for composition and lighting. I also always smile when I see a photo credit by you somewhere else – in VegNews, or, most recently, in “The Vegan Girl’s Guide to Life.” :)

  43. Congratulations, Hannah! Your writing has always been engaging, but I’ve enjoyed seeing your photographs become more and more professional over the years. I know you’re always pushing to become even better (and sometimes look down on photos from years past) but I hope you also appreciate how wonderful the blog has been all along!

I’m a compulsive improviser so I have a hard time actually *following* a recipe, but I enjoy the inspiration from your posts.

  44. 1000 posts, hot damn girl! Congrats! I’ve loved reading your blog over the last four or five years (I lose track of how long we’ve been doing this, oy!), especially the way you mix it up with reviews & recipes & knitting projects, etc. Always fun & fresh, which is what I like in a blog.

  45. I love your blog. You are my favorite vegan cookbook author. At my house, we call you by your first name (like we are old friends). My husband even confessed that he would marry you, if it weren’t for the age difference (he just turned 39). My favorite recipe is your silken chocolate mousse cake. But really, I love everything you make!

  46. Your writing is excellent, your photos are fabulous, your recipes, divine. Thank you for what you do! Your work is appreciated!

  47. When vegan-curious friends ask for recipes to try, I always send them to your blog! I’ve been a fan for years! Thank you and congrats!!!

  48. 1000 posts? Amazing! I first discovered your blog when you had your Thanksgiving post with the tofu turkeys. I was thrilled (being a newfound vegetarian) and, though I couldn’t make them right then, bookmarked the recipe. Months later I made and was in heaven. It was superb! And thanks to you and your blog, I discovered that something as amazing as food blogs exist and have started my own. You’re such a funny, talented, and creative person; and you have made a HUGE (positive) impact in my life and my perspective of food. Thank you so much! :D

  49. Hannah, thank you for the past 1000 posts. I’ll look forward to the next 1000! I especially love your sweet tooth (as I have one, too) and greatly enjoy the beautiful pictures you post.

  50. I’m a somewhat new reader, and really enjoy receiving your entries via e-mail. Many congrats on your 1,000th post. So fabulous! Absolutely Love your photography, and the de-lish recipes. Keep up the great work!! :)

  51. wow 1000! i love your blog– and loved meeting you in person at Boston VegFest a couple of years ago. come back this year, and bring some felt donuts so i can buy them this time?

  52. i love the recipes best – mostly I just imagine making them, where does the time go? – because when you taste test luvverly new vegan products they are never available down here in my small corner of Australia…sigh! This is one of only 2 blogs I follow, so I think you must be pretty good!

  53. Congrats on 1000 posts! It’s hard to pick just one thing I love about your blog, creative recipes, beautiful pictures and entertaining, interesting posts…it’s all GREAT! Mazel! Looking forward to 1000 more!

  54. Congrats! your recipes are the best; though I must say your photography is a huge selling point! Keep it up!

  55. Wow, 1000th post! Congrats on that!
What I like? Okay, I have never ever tried your craft patterns and probably I’m not very likely to do ever try them… but I do enjoy looking at them, because they are often so cute and adorable!
I love the yummy recipes, I think, generally all the recipes for desserts are my favourite (because you can never have enough recipes for desserts…)!

  56. Hi Hannah, congrats on 1000 posts…that’s amazing! I really enjoy your photography and recipes. I have many food intolerances but always find your list of ingredients are simple healthy and suitable for my needs. But more than that they taste amazing!!!

  57. Congratulations. Thank you for everything, and for making veganism delicious and not stale.

  58. Congratulations on not only your blog but on your amazing cookbooks! You’re one of the few cookbook authors I know where every recipe is guaranteed to be great. Thank you!

  59. Congrats!!!! I love all your posts!! Especially the sweet ones!! All your food always looks so yummy!!!!

  60. congratulations! I’m excited for Vegan A La Mode, I have your other books and they are some of my all time favorite recipes.. many of my go-to’s come from there.. and who else has as innovative recipes as you do in Vegan Desserts, hello, vegan macarons! lol

  61. Huge congratulations on that many posts! I love all of your recipes but, I think your photography is something that really sets you apart. You have such a beautiful eye for color. I adore being inspired by you!

  62. MAJOR congrats lovely! To celebrate…we should totally hang out. Someday. Soon. Just saying. :P

i adored your chocolate chip cookie dough cheesecake. I made it for a work function since one of my coworkers doesn’t eat eggs. No one could have guessed it wasn’t real dairy!

  63. I love your books. They are my go to dessert books. Keep writing, and I’ll keep buying and baking! Thanks. -Lisa

  64. Congrats on 1000 posts! That’s amazing. I love all your photos the best, I eat with my eyes first and you just make veganism look so decadent. I’d love to have a chance to get one of your books.

  65. Congrats Hannah! The most recent recipe I made of yours was the root beer cupcakes from My Sweet Vegan, for my sister-in-law’s baby shower. I added some butter extract to the frosting, which made them over the top delicious!

  66. Congratulations soul sister! Woooot! What I’m going to tell you is that things are looking good for us fingers-crossed actually meeting this year… so long as we can find a city to meet in ;) xoxo

  67. I come to your site for a multitude of reasons. The photography is stunning (you could make dog poo look pretty :), the food (which is consistently delicious and ridiculously creative), and your posts, whether they be about about food or otherwise. You are such a wonderful storyteller, that even if I’m not particularly interested in the topic at hand, I keep reading; your way of writing is almost mesmerizing, and I just can’t seem to pull myself away! :) And, with you, I never know what I’m gonna get; your posts are unpredictable (in a good way!), and, while I can’t ever determine what you’re possibly going to blog about next, your topics are so varied and vast that I am never disappointed. Here’s to 1,000 more posts!

  68. Congratulations on your 1000th post! I first followed you a long while ago, it was actually about some cute craft you made rather than cooking! But your recipes and pictures are always delightful and I have to say, your pudding bread recipe is a household favourite at my house. Thank you so much for all the effort you’ve put in to share your goodies, and I hope to see many more wonderful posts from you in the future!

  69. Wow! 1000 is more than a milestone, it’s amazing. I keep coming back for the fantastic ideas and beautiful photography.

  70. I love your blog, and especially your amigurumi! Congrats on 1000 (!) posts and let’s hope that you’ll write thousands more :)

  71. I started a blog awhile back and I can’t even fathom 1000 posts! Anything crochet has been my fav to follow here on your blog! Thanks for all you do to brighten spirits with your blog.

  72. My favorite part of your blog is how delicious everything you make looks and how I can send non-vegans over here to get recipes that I know will work!

  73. I really enjoy reading your blog, and I’m glad you have reached 1000 posts. I look forward to reading more!

  74. Hannah, I have always admired your photography, it is inspiring. Congratulations on 1000 posts, that really is a culmination of a lot of work and an important milestone. Here’s to thousands more!

  75. Congrats on your 1000th post! I am not a regular commenter, but I’ve been reading your blog for years…since, oh, 2008? I have many, many of your recipes saved and lots of them are in regular rotation. Thank you for all the hard work you put into this blog for us!

  76. Wow, that’s quite an accomplishment! I really enjoyed your craft posts (I made your felt fruit magnets several times and everyone loved them!). I’d love to see some more craft posts in the future.

  77. Wow! Great job. I enjoy your writing and recipes, need to check out your crafts more. Obviously your photography is awesome too.

  78. Hannah … a well deserved congratulations on your thousandth post!! What I love about your blog is that it presents an unexpected view of “vegan” to folks not at all familiar with what vegan eating is. They picture steamed vegetables and carrot sticks, and I bring out one of your melt in your mouth desserts, and all they seem to be able to say (between bite after bite) is, “THIS is VEGAN??”

  79. What an AMAZING accomplishment, Hannah!!! And WE’RE the ones who are blessed by you sharing your knowledge and talent with us. Here’s to 1000 more! :-)

  80. Wow, congrats on 1000 posts! I’ve been reading your blog for years and love the effort you put into each post as well as your gorgeous photography. Keep up the great work!

  81. Congratulations Hannah! I absolutely love your blog and beautiful ideas! I love your reviews on new vegan products. I find them honest and helpful. I work at Trader Joes and every time I meet a confused new vegan I show them around the store. Then I write down the names “Hannah Kaminsky, Isa Moskowitz and Colleen Patrick-Goudreau” for them. Your recipes are lovely. I have enjoyed your chocolate ganache more times than I’d like to admit. I would love to see some more recipes that use alternative sweeteners such as brown rice syrup, agave, maple sugar etc. Thank you for being super awesome!!!

  82. I came across your blog a little more than a year ago when I was searching for a vegan cheese recipe. You had just done a post about The Ultimate Uncheese Cookbook and a muenster cheese that you raved about. Based on your enthusiastic post I sought this book out and have since made many of the recipes from it, with the Muenster being everyone’s favorite. Since then I often visit your blog and enjoy the recipes and your photography. Congratulations on 1000 posts!!! I look forward to the next 1000

  83. I would absolutely love to win so I can get a cookbook written by you!!! Your photos are gorgeous & I want to try all of your ice creams. They look so creamy and decadent

  84. Congratulations! Your blog is absolutely amazing! I love all of your cookbooks, especially Vegan Desserts. I am so thankful for your amazing macaron and meringue recipes. My family loves them. Congrats again!

  85. Congratulations on 1000 posts! I love the creativity in your recipes. The beet pierogi recipe was a recent one that really caught my eye.

  86. I LOVE your beautiful photography and creative recipes. Thank you for giving us 1000 posts!!

  87. Congratulations on your 1000th post! I first found your blog when looking for “safe” food for my food allergic son. Your recipes are amazing, and the photographs are stunning! Thank you for all that you do! Here’s to the next 1000! :)

  88. What a great photo! Congratulations on 1000 posts!! I truly enjoy reading your posts and seeing all the amazing recipes and crafts you’ve shared! You’re such an inspiration :)

  89. I loved your photo of your banana pudding bars; it was the only non-stock photo in the Jul/Aug 2009 issue of VegNews. Thanks for a great vegan blog!

  90. I am such a fan of any baked good recipe you post! I always know without a doubt that it will turn out and will be delicious. I’ll never forget taking your Raspberry Lime Sheet Cake to an outdoor concert picnic and having strangers asking me for a taste – and then for the recipe! I got to send a lot of people to your blog that day :)

  91. A huge congratulations! I have been reading your blog since its inception, and you have come such a long way. Your recipes are wonderful, I have a few favorites that I make often (muffins!), and your photography (which has always been good!) is now AMAZING.

    Bravo :)

  92. Oh I do not like public speaking either !! and I just love your cookbooks, I have used them lots ! have you thought about doing a cook book of savory items? main dishes, soup etc ?

  93. One thousand blog posts? That’s incredible! Congratulations!
As someone who has just recently found your blog, I have to say that I’m still dreaming about that cheesecake parfait. Yum!

  94. Congratulations! I have lots of your recipes bookmarked, but if I had to choose the one I most want to try, it would be the beet and potato pierogi – I love beets!

  95. 1000 blogs? Wow!! I followed your blog as a bookmark on my homepage for a lot longer than I’ve actually been subscribed. I have to say I like the ease of just waiting for a new post to pop up. :) I look forward to your recipes, but recently I have enjoyed the photographs that you have done for your class. Especially the animals-as-jewelry assignment. I looked and looked at those! Thanks for sharing those!

  96. One of my favorite recipes was the stroopwaffles. I love them, but I don’t buy them all that often because they’re kind of expensive. It never occurred to me to make my own!

  97. I almost forgot about it. Still time to write something. Well, I discovered your place through VG Zone, and until several months ago I was not coming that much, now it has become a habit, probably because I suscribed to get the latest news. Anyway, I think that you are very inspiring, especially for savory recipes. I focus a lot on that, although I am always amazed to find your new sweet recipe, because I have a sweet tooth so I cannot scroll down and act like I did not notice them. However, I take particular delight to read and admire your savory recipes probably because I am so not always creative about them. Maybe with time passing by, it will help me have less trouble to create such recipes too.
I do not think I ever tried one of your recipes though – I do not do it often overall, because I do not always take the time but this is something I should do.
Last words : félicitations pour ce millième post & longue vie à Bittersweet

  98. Congratulations! Even though I have not commented before, I read ALL of your posts with great enthusiasm. I am always happy to see a new one in my inbox. Your recipes are great, many I’ve used for my own family. Keep it up! :)

  99. Vegan a la Mode? Where have I been! I came here to look for an old recipe. Chocolate Chip Cookie bars have become a staple for finals week for me…

To many more posts and I’ll try better to be a more faithful reader!

  100. Congrats, Hannah!! Right now I am loving vegan challah–yum!! My roommates are in awe of my goddesslike abilities.

  101. Congrats! Every time I read your blog I think how beautifully written it is! I’m glad you have lots to say, because you are a fantastic blogger! I would have never guessed you dislike public speaking! All that’s on my mind right now is I adore your photography and I love seeing your creativity through your pictures and your recipes. I have not tried any yet, but I have a couple saved and I hope to do so soon! Fabulous giveaway!! And hope you have 1000 posts more (and beyond!)

  102. Fantastic, Hannah! Congratulations on your 1000th post! I have a long way to go before I catch up with you! I’m humbled by your creativity and dexterity – be it with a mixer or knitting needles! Your photographs are a joy to behold and your writing style – light and witty! Doing all of this while taking a firm stance on an important issue is even more difficult, so a tip of my hat to you! I look forward to following more of your creative and delectable adventures! Best of luck, Assia

  103. drat!! :( two hours too late!! It’s still only 11:00 over here on the west coast.

Well, either way, I just wanted to say that I just recently found your blog :) I saw a recipe I liked and came back to see if you had other recipes that looked yummy (you did ;). Ironically, I also saw the link to your craft patterns… and I had just recently begun experimenting with amigurumi! So far, I’ve made a fox (http://th04.deviantart.net/fs71/PRE/i/2012/033/0/0/irish_fox_by_blueskies21-d4lbha3.jpg) and a panda (http://blueskies21.deviantart.com/art/Amigurumi-Panda-293410151?q=gallery%3Ablueskies21%2F26328256&qo=0) and I want to try making one of your animal patterns! :) (i havent decided which one yet). It’s awesome that you like both amigurumi and baking :)

Congrats on the blogging milestone! :)

  104. 1000 is a huge achievement; definitely a milestone! Your constant information sharing is the reason why a lot of netizens continue to visit your site. You make it interesting and all that it could ever be.

  105. Found you via a cupcake, which lead to “Pantry Purge”, which I made because I LOVE a GARBANZO (chick pea). Delicious!! Next was the Dog Biscuit recipe, and Niko is all over those, he loves them. Passed on your Almond Milk to my niece who just bought a Vitamix. Congratulations and thanks for sharing. Cheers!

  106. I’m sorry I’m a little late commenting on this one, but I just had to say congratulations!! 1,000 is a HUGE milestone, something you should be extremely proud of, and something the rest of us bloggers should strive for. Thanks for pouring out inspiration, heart and soul into each and every post. I’m looking forward to following for the next 1,000 X 1,000 posts! ;) XO
