News travels pretty fast in the blogosphere, and the latest craze that’s been showing up on food blogs far and wide has been The Omnivore’s Hundred, a list of 100 foods that all omnivores should eat at some point in their lives. Well, I like the idea, but obviously that sort of thing just doesn’t fly with me. Instead, I present to you my revised list, The Vegan’s Hundred instead! Everything here is either naturally free of animal products or can be veganized, and just like the original, these foods vary from the every day to extraordinary, delectable and disgusting. They’re simply all of the things that, in my opinion, any vegan foodie should definitely sink their teeth into at least once.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it:
1) Copy this list into your own blog, including these instructions.
2) Bold all the items you’ve eaten.
3) Cross out any items that you would never consider eating.
4) Post a comment here once you’ve finished and link your post back to this one.

Fabulous list, Hannah! I’m a bit surprised at how many I HAVE actually eaten–but there are lots I’m still dying to try (durian, for example!). Can’t wait to give this a go. :)
PS to reiterate what Veggie Girl wrote–which are the ones YOU’VE tried (or have you tried them all??)
Awesome, Hannah. What a wonderful idea. Here’s my list.
nice! :D
Very fun and makes me realize I’ve got a lot more eatin’ to do! My list:

I have had a lot on this list but had never tried Natto until today, and I really like it.
Awesome. Here’s mine: http://sarrabellum.livejournal.com/353828.html
I’d complained in my journal, a few days ago, that someone should put a list like this together, so I was happy to see this!
Here you go!
Fun! Thanks, Hannah!
http://foodsnobberyhobbery.blogspot.com/2008/08/vegans-hundred.html
I had fun with the list! I’ve just posted mine.
The list made me realize some things I am also dying to try – like veganizing some mochi, and going to New York (to try Candle 79 being one of the many, many reasons).
And I’d never heard of a Stroopwafle until now either.
This was awesome, fun, and gave me some great new ideas for things I need to try as a baby vegan.
Thanks.

That’s okay about the sesame noodles Hannah, I thought 3 Tbs was a lot of soy sauce when putting the sauce together and probably should’ve trusted my instincts :) It was still really good, just a menal note for next time for me.
This is a fun list! I’ll put it on my blog soon, there’s a lot I haven’t tried.

My Vegan 100 List
What a fun idea! How’s my list!
http://nortonthedog.blogspot.com/2008/08/vegans-hundred.html
This has been really interesting! I have looked through almost everyone else’s lists here.
My list is up but I take exception to the addition of highly processed and packaged foods like soy whipped cream and fake meats (mostly because they come in so much plastic), so I’ve made a “crunchy vegan 100” version of the list, reinstating some items from the original — like rose harissa, OMG! the yum!
Hurray for the vegan versions (I was too lazy to think up my own). I didn’t cross anything off your list Hannah, everything that I hadn’t heard of sounded very interesting!
http://freefromillegals.blogspot.com/2008/08/vegans-hundred.html
Great list!
I took the bloggers liberty and changed some aspects, but I’ve linked back here.

Not sure how to get it to post as a link, sorry.
Oops. I guess it did create a link after all.
I love your list. But scrapple? How awful! : ) I’ve posted the list and added a few of my own. (Before you know it, we’ll have vegan Spam …)
The raspberry photo from the previous post is gorgeous.
Very interesting list!!! I put mine up today:
http://tamdoll.blogspot.com/2008/08/vegans-hundred.html
I thought I had tried many things in the past, but hadn’t even heard of some of these. Wish I could have some Boba Tea right now!
OK, here’s my list

I feel like a loser – but then I have some foods I think everyone should try which aren’t on your list, so i feel better!
This is such a great thing it has inspired me to start blogging. Here is my list:
http://tinyowls.blogspot.com/
Wow! I ate much more of those than I thought…..of course, I am always eager to try more. I can’t wait to check out Candle 79! Thanks for the tip!

And oh, my gawd. That “Omnivore’s One Hundred” is SIIIIICK! Ew.
I got 64/100 on yours (thanks for making a vegan one!), and then I decided to make my own, using more traditional world cuisine foods. So, my World Cuisine 100 is posted at my blog below:
http://www.myvegankitchen.com/blog
And, I linked back to your site. Just so you know :)
Oops, I forgot the suffix on the web address for the World Cuisine 100. It’s actually:

Sorry about that!
You are awesome for reworking the omnivore 100!! I just got around to this… what fun!
I included some foods I had eaten prevegan; what can I say, I’m competitive with myself!
Also, I can’t read about food without commenting, so I included lots of thoughts.

I am omnivore, but here is mine. I think I did all right.
Taco stands?! Woah.. like the only stands I`ve ever seen are hot dog (which serves up Yves) and ice cream stands. Geez, I think I`m missing out here.
Also.. am I reading this right? You have never had `mac and cheese`? *le gasp* If you don`t mind me recomending, try Roads End Mac and Chreeze.
It will forever change your life.
