More Bitter Than Sweet

It’s true, life has been much more bitter than sweet lately, and it’s been tough to continue posting as if all were right with the world. However, in an attempt to balance things out a bit, a plate full of hot french toast could certainly help tip the scales, at least for a little while.

Regular posts will return very soon, I promise- I just need to regroup a bit, and get some of that sweetness back into my life.

  1. Sounds like you could use a holiday – a bit of quality time with a deck chair and a beach.
But I guarantee everything will seem a little bit sweeter when the sun is smiling down on us. Unless you like the cold…

  2. aww..sorry that things are going badly..it is tough when you are walking through the slough of despond for whatever reason…hope that things pick up for you soon!

  3. Sorry to hear that things arent that sweet at the moment! I hope it will get better soon! :)
Cant you take a break, and go on a short holiday or something? Just for a couple of days? That use to help me a little. Get away from the usual, and find something new, because the usual will seem better when you come back home again!

  4. Take all the time you need. You’re a very busy lady and everyone needs some time to recoup on occasion. We’ll be here when you get back.

P.S. The French toast looks yummy.

  5. Hey Hannah! We are all sorry to hear that your life has lost some of its sweetness. Just know that there are a whole lot of us out here who care about you and are sending sweet thoughts your way! You are loved and cherished!

  8. You have brought much inspiration and sweetness to my life, as I’m sure you have to so many others – I hope some of that sweetness comes back to you very soon.

  9. I agree, you are SO inspirational for me. You should be proud of everything you’ve accomplished, if not I’ll be proud for you for a little while :)
    Feel better!

  10. Hang in there…life can be tough. Be good to yourself. I’m in a bit of a funk right now and I’m trying to do the same.

  11. Never fear things will get better, they always do. The down turns always remind you how good are the nice times.

  15. Hiiii!! i was google imaging “crocheted cactus” and your blog popped up! 4 hours later I’ve made it back to mar 2006. omg do i ever love your blog. You are absolutely amazing. Every kind of amazing! And when i found out you were only 19??!!1 wow. wow! I’m pretty new at crocheting but i love it! And i love looking at other peoples stuff too. Also! My mom’s a vegetarian w/ a mega sweet tooth and i’ve never seen so many yummu looking recipes. I can’t wait to try some of this stuff for her.

At first I was keeping mental tabs on my fav creations you’ve made, but there are so many I’ve lost track. I love that blue robot w/ the heart on his chest… and the cactus of course. And the mini giraffe and the snail! and zomg everything you make is cute. *glomps youe site* But it’s not only your cute stuff that got me. It’s the intricate detailed projects too. Some of your scarves and chokers are out of this world. I’ve never tried anything that complicated. But i want toooo!1 And i feel inspired to at least try.

Anyways, I’ll stop this epic reply and jusy thank you for making my morning at work super enjoyable. My poor boyfriend tho got the rough end of this, lol.. I linked him images non stop all day exclaiming how amazing everything you made was. You’ve definitely got another avid reader. *hugs*

  16. ehhh you’ve got more shit then i have going on and you still manage to get more cooking and studying done… i’ve just been eating sleeping bit of tv and studying… it’s mostly the sleeping… i’m tempted to now even though i slept through my morning class… i think i may go down and make pizza and watch gilmore girls though… tgif for sure

  17. Dearest Hannah,
Sorry you are experiencing rough times. It’s good to be straightforward about it. Pretending things are good when they are not is unnecessarily painful. Even the simple admission that you are not “fine” can feel like such a lifted burden. I hope you have a chance to recoup, however long it takes. As for me, I’ll keep checking your blog even if you don’t post anything for a month. Or if you only post sad, cranky things for a month! Whatever feels good for you.
    Take care of yourself
    Amey

  18. Hannah,
I am proud of you for so many things, one being the fact that you are ok with telling us that life is not all sweet. You are in my thoughts. Just take it minute by minute and try and find beauty in the day. Take good care.

  19. Aw, Hannah, I hope that your world finds a way to be all right again soon. If you ever need to talk or vent, I’m just an email away.

  20. ((hugs)) I hope all goes well in the end with the world you’re facing right now. Thank you for the birthday wishes and wonderful comments you leave. You definitely brighten up the blogosphere.

  21. just checking in again to say I hope things are going well….AND you are seeking any assistance you might need if it’s that sort of deal….at least spring is trying to provide us with some splashes of color and sunshine! maybe you’ll “run” into one of those fantastic creatures that so often ends up in your path=)

  22. BIG internet hug to you girl. Always remember that you’re an amazing young woman and this too shall pass. Life has a way of hitting you all at once -especially when you’re a student. Just know we’re all here rooting you on & wishing you sunnier days to come. Don’t worry about the daily posts -we’ll keep checking back & remember summer is right around the corner. :) Jes

  23. Hey, just wanted to let you know, there are so many people out here who support you!!!! I really enjoy your blog, and just wanted to thank you for putting a bright spot in my day with your writing and your adrable little creations!!!!!! So thank you so much and hope your life brightens up!!

  24. Aww, I know what you mean about finding the sweetness; I’ve been a little bitter myself, lately. I hope you can find the sugar soon, because I think you deserve it (who doesn’t?). It should be a little easier, what with spring peeking in your bedroom window at night…

  25. Yummy French Toast – my favorite. I hope you are feeling better. A request – please publish the shamrock lady bug pattern – I know many of us would love to see that pattern. Thanks.
