Miss Me?

After yet another 12 hours in the air, sitting cheek-to-jowl with some semi-conscious, drooling strangers that I could have happily done without ever meeting, I’ve finally returned home again. Thank you to everyone who wished me well on my trip – It pains me to leave so many emails unanswered, but I don’t think I would be able to leave my computer for a few consecutive days if I replied to each one of you individually. I do really appreciate it though! Maybe it was all of the good karma being directed towards me by all you kind readers out there, but I had a fantastic time in Japan, as short lived as my trip was. Barely settling into a comfortable routine before abandoning the playing field once more, I only wish I had more time to enjoy my surroundings. Rushing around madly like a chicken with its head chopped off, I didn’t have many opportunities to just set about taking carefully posed and laid out pictures, so I appoligize for any tourist-like photos that I tried desperately to avoid taking. For better or for worst, here’s just an idea of what I captured…

If any of that strikes your fancy or you’d like to see a bit more of Tokyo through my eyes, I have a handful of other photos over on Flickr.

Sorry for all of this craziness lately; Things should be calming down a bit now, and I expect to go back to a fairly regular posting schedule, complete with new patterns, recipes, and reviews. I’d return to Japan at the drop of a hat, but it is still good to be home.

  1. Welcome home! Your pictures are lovely as always and I enjoyed the Flickr photos. May I ask a question? What are the ties on the trees for and are they made of paper? (ok, that was two questions :).

I hope you will find some time to rest and recover from your journey.

  2. I love the pink flowers and th “love” picture, but surprisingly, your subway picture catches my eye the most out of all of them. Great pics, thanks for the real Japan view!

  3. Welcome home Hannah! It seems like Japan is beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing all of your photos. I would love to travel outside of the country one day. I live the New England area…and have never been out of it! I too hope you give yourself time to rest and recover!!

  4. Welcome back! I’m glad you enjoyed your trip.
I also was in Japan once, when I was 8 years old… just an hour at the Tokyo airport as me and my family were heading for a vacation in California. The time we spent there my parents were asked several times by japanese girls if they could take a picture with the cute little blonde kid. :D
