My mother’s hands have touched so many things;

Picked up the pieces,
Pieced the shattered back together,
Mended broken hearts,
Fed hungry mouths,
Nurtured and nourished hungry minds,
Gripped the wheel and steered towards home,
Soothed, hugged, and held us tight.
Held on and didn’t let go;
